 Kendesi Mohammed is a writer, interviewer, commentator, author, and artist. He was born in Buxton, Guyana, a historic village on the northern coast of South America. His mission is to become the greatest and most influential writer, interviewer, and author of all time.


Kendesi has built his reputation through Kendesi TV by covering major events across Washington DC, Baltimore, New York City, and Guyana. He is widely recognized for promoting and covering events at 876 Cafe, Red Lounge, Fur Nightclub, Station 9, Society Restaurant and Lounge, Cloud Lounge, Bohemian Caverns (Liv Nightclub), Pure Lounge, Ocean Lounge, Love Nightclub, Peace Lounge, Secret Lounge, Castello Fine Dining Restaurant and Lounge, and Almaz Ethiopian Restaurant, among others.


He is known and respected for providing advice, offering opportunities, discovering talent, developing artists, and exposing their gifts to the public, media platforms, and industry executives.


Kendesi Mohammed is the creator of Party TV Guyana, a media platform that covered major events throughout Georgetown and along the east coast of Guyana.


He also partnered with Fur Nightclub, Tony Taylor, and John Blassingame to produce The 5th Annual BlackMen Magazine Swimsuit Contest held in 2008 at Fur Nightclub in Washington, DC. This event featured bikini modeling and was aligned with the magazine’s popular swimsuit editions.

    I was born in Buxton, Guyana, a historic village with a powerful legacy of resilience and freedom.

    Watching my elders turn soil into food and ideas into income taught me resourcefulness and determination.
     
  3. Can you describe your family and their influence on your life?
    My father’s family from Annandale taught me discipline and entrepreneurship, while my mother’s family from Buxton instilled courage and the determination to build a future no one else could define.
     
  4. What traditions or values from your childhood still guide you?
    Farming, saving, self-reliance, and building businesses within the family community are values I still hold today.
     
  5. Were there any pivotal moments in your early life that defined your path?
    Growing up between Annandale and Buxton and witnessing the strength of my community taught me the importance of leadership and vision.
     
  6. How did your upbringing in Guyana influence your work ethic?
    In Guyana, being resourceful wasn’t optional; it was survival. This instilled a relentless work ethic in me.
     
  7. What lessons did you learn from your parents or elders that you still use?
    I learned how to lead, be disciplined, and turn vision into reality. These lessons drive everything I do.

    Yes, I faced the limitations of growing up in a community where resources were scarce, but I learned to thrive despite that.

    They instilled a sense of ownership, unity, and the drive to create opportunities for myself and others.

    I was inspired by watching the adults in my life create businesses and by my natural curiosity about the world around me.

    Yes, I had learning disabilities that affected reading, writing, and spelling.

    Education was important, but I learned that ambition and tenacity often outweigh formal schooling.

    Yes, when I started building my own businesses and achieving milestones despite academic challenges.
